April 30, 2002: Five articles about the BMW Open added with most quoting Mark: “I hit a lot of wrong shots, a lot of stupid shots.” He has opted to enter both the Rome and Hamburg Masters events to get more time on the clay before Rolland Garros.
April 29, 2002: It was another disappointing outing for Philippoussis today, losing to Boutter 5-7, 6-7 (4-7) in the first round of the BMW Open.

April 18, 2002: It seems that Mark will be playing World Team Tennis this year. He will be playing for the Philadelphia Freedoms. World Team Tennis is a reborn version of the league for professional players started by Billy Jean King. They play in July-Aug, with the tournament championships to be held Aug. 24 at the USTA National Tennis Center in New York.
Mark is just not having the kind of season he wants. He went out in the first round of Monte Carlo today 4-6, 4-6 against Grosjean.
