December 20, 2002: Mark made his first appearance on the outdoor courts at Melbourne Park, and it’s reported that he is looking incredibly fit. He’s bulked up a bit in the upper body and so far seems to be hitting with both excellent power and precision. His first tournament of the season is the Tata Open in India starting December 30th, followed by the Kooyang Classic and then the Australian Open starting January 13th. Good Luck Mark!
December 18, 2002: Oh what a difference a year can make! The news from down-under today has Todd Woodbridge wanting a shot a teaming up with Mark for doubles in Davis Cup. First it was Hewitt, now Woodbridge – Mark seems to be the player everyone wants right now. A few articles and a nice photo from practice added.
December 16, 2002: Mark has been practicing at the Australian Open training camp and specifically having hitting sessions with some of Australia’s up and coming young mens players. The hope is to give the younger players some experience and helpful tips to march up the rankings. Reports say that Mark is moving well and that his serve is of course booming!
