July 5, 2003: Over 30 articles added about the upcoming final against Federer. I recommend the head to head breakdown from the Daily Telegraph. And to answer a couple of questions, in yesterday’s match the tape around Mark’s index finger and thumb on Mark’s left hand had the words “pothia” and “andras” written on them. This is Greek for “longing” and “man” though Mark has declined to elaborate on exactly what they signify for him. Best of luck to Mark tomorrow!
July 4, 2003 pm: Media update for the semis with 41 articles and 34 great photos added! And for those of us who have seen much of the Aussie press do nothing put take pot shots at Mark over the years, I marked two articles with an * that are worth reading – both Aussie press and both speak of their change in attitude.
July 4, 2003: Way to go Mark! In contrast to his previous two matches, Mark made it off-court today in just three sets 7-6 (7-3), 6-3, 6-3 dismissing Grosjean. While the first set did require a tie-break, Mark was never seriously challenged on his serve with Grosjean only having 2 break chances. Mark now advances to his first Wimbledon final and his first grand slam final since the 1998 US Open. He’ll play either Roddick or Federer who play their semi later today.
