The Australian press is running an article entitles “Scud’s Wild Ride” and that’s exactly what it looks like the next few weeks will be for Mark as he anxiously awaits for news on the grass court season. In a bit of a reckless bid with his decision to apply for direct entry into Wimbledon, assuming he gets wildcards into enough early grass tournaments, plays well and can significantly improve his ranking. Due to his plummeting ranking, Mark has been forced to ask for a wilcard to the prestigious Stella Artois (Queen’s Club), a tournment he’s won before. He also applied for a wildcard to the Surbiton Challenger, but has to hope that other players drop out in order to get in. If neither wildcards nor match wins come through Mark still has the chance for a Wimbledon wildcard or at worst a chance to get into the qualifying trials.
