Mark to play in Champions Series event in London

Mark will be playing at the Statoil Masters Tennis event at the Royal Albert Hall from December 5-9th. Find that info a bit of a mouthful to say? So do the players. Check out this blooper reel of players trying to record that same tagline.

Mark has a new love interest

We normally stay away from the Mark personal life postings, but the articles actually have some newer photos of Mark in them and that’s a rarity these days. The girl in question is Melbourne model Silvana Lovin. Also the last article talks about players who were known for their serves. I love the reference to Philippoussis whose “serve was the nightclub bouncer of serves” which is just a brilliant description.

Welcome to the newest version of the Mark Philippoussis Archives!

Welcome loyal readers to the newest incarnation of the Mark Philippoussis Archives. I’ve gone full-on WordPress so that it’s now hopefully quicker for me to update whenever Mark news appears. All our pages made the migration and new is a biography of Mark’s (note: bios are not my best area so if you notice an error please let me know).

Mark’s busy spring

Mark had a busy spring, competing in three Challenger Circuit events. First was the Zurich Open in March where he came in third. His play included a loss to Edberg, and wins against Laconte, Henman and Safin. Next he played at the Medellin Open where he lost the third place match. His play included a win against Gaudio and losses to Rusedski and Santoro. Finally he was in Brazil for the Sao Paolo Open where he made it to the final but lost to Santoro. His earlier rounds included wins against Puerta and Enqvist.
